Unity, and How it is Changing Mobile

Creating a single product across many platforms is hard and costly, especially in the mobile space. Smartphone users carry wildly different devices -- especially with Android phones. This has caused creators to adopt various strategies to solve the "fragmentation" issue.

Primarily a video game development engine, Unity has shaken the mobile development world by bringing a stable, professional development environment that can deploy a single product to multiple platforms, including Android, iOS, Windows, Mac, and even Xbox and Playstation! The results are consistent across the platforms and relatively painless. For this reason, many developers have been adopting it for uses outside of video games.

Great presentation on Unity. Thanks for letting me hijack the meetup briefly and show CTRL+Console to everyone. Like I said at the meetup, I'm looking for a passionate dev to join the team and perhaps go through Techstars with us - we're empowering creatives and may even change the way we use computers! Find me at about.me/jeffchow for more info.

Due to a scheduling issue, this event is being moved from Scrib at 6:30p to Boulder Fuse at The Riverside at 6:00p. Fuse at The Riverside is nearby. I hope to still see everyone there!
