Not as hard as I thought it would be...but then again, I stopped at the amphitheater. Great ride! And...I really like the celebratory XXXPale Ale afterwards! Thanks all!

Change in kiddo schedule and my time window. I'll be riding it straight from my house - may see you guys on the way up or down :)

Do we leave our cars at the rec center and return to it before heading by car to Southern Sun? I don't have a lock for my bike so I wouldn't want to leave it outside at Southern Sun. But I can tuck it into the back of my car.
Can anyone tell me what the protocol is?

park at Southern Sun and ride to the start. Thinking about starting at SS for July.

Hey all. I work at CU so I'm going to meet you at Broadway and baseline (northwest corner) instead of riding to the community center. I'm guessing you will be there between 6:20/30 so I'll keep an eye out for a group of sweaty riders.

@Jill - Flagstaff can be scary if you've never done it before. Just gear way down (if you have a triple all the better) and don't panic. Don't worry about how fast anyone else is going, just find your groove, stay steady and calm and don't think about the entire climb - just think about turning the cranks over nice and steady and breathing. If you notice that you're tensing your neck and shoulders, relax - keeping the upper body relaxed will help you get more air. It'll be over before you know it. Showing up is half the battle :)

303cycling says it's an average 11% grade, but mapmyride says it's only 7%. Either way, the return ride should be a LOT more fun that the outbound portion. Can I assume there will be beer involved?

it hits spots of 11%/12% but mapmyride takes an average. the spot may only be 5 feet of 11%

Classic must do climb for fit cyclist visiting Boulder! The climb starts right at the base of the beautiful Chautauqua Park but don't start your watches just yet, most folks start the clock right as you pass over the stone bridge just feet before the road really kicks up. The first few miles of the climb is very hard but the views can be inspiring to those who are not use to riding in the mountains. Once this section of the race was part of the prologue for the Coors Classic race starting at the park and finishing at the Flagstaff restaurant.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
