Let's get this thing started.

The inaugural meeting! The first ever meetup of Boulder/Denver D3 and Data Visualization will be Thursday the 24th of October, at 6:30pm. Location: Gnip's Boulder office (1050 Walnut St, Suite 115, Boulder).

This will be a general introduction and a chance for us to talk about the topics and sessions that work best for us. I'm going to have an overview presentation so I can go over my goals for the meetup and give us all some context. There will also be a workshop where novices to D3 and data vis in general can start working with a data set in the browser.

I also want to start finding out more about the projects you are working on (or want to start) and what kind of expertise we have in the community. Everyone active in data visualization, please start thinking about presentations for future sessions. Those of you getting started, let's have talks about that too!

I'm really looking forward to the meetup, please send me a message here, via twitter (@trinary), or email ([masked]) if you have any questions. Many thanks to Gnip for providing the space.

See you next Thursday!

I was not able to make the last meetup, but wanted to announce that we are looking for a full time D3.js developer. Here is a link to the job listing. Please feel free to message me if you have any questions. http://geographicresearch.theresumator.com/apply/SGU0ml/D3js-Data-Visualization-Developer.html?source=d3meetup-boulder

Great intro to D3 and I really enjoyed working in small groups to solve the assignment. That really made it fun to see how differently people addressed the problem.

So bummed I can't make it Thursday - hoping to hook-up with D3js ninja(s) -- lovers of all things front-end that want to join our team (freelance? Maybe).

    Erik,

Thanks very much. It is regret that I'll have to miss the meetup this evening. Hopefully I have chance to catch up later on.

I'm excited to see this group exists. I went to a presentation about connecting D3 with AngularJS last month, and I was left intrigued but wanting to learn more about the power of D3

    Erik,

Thank you very much for D3.js meetup. Just wanted to confirm the time of the first meetup: Will it be on Thursday or Friday? Friday would be better day since Python Meetup is on Thursday (11:30-1:00PM).

Hi Wanli. The meetup is scheduled for Thursday the 24th, at 6:30 pm. Sorry, but the space at Gnip is reserved and I don't think changing it would work out. Hope you can make it!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
