About Beautiful Ruins:

From the moment it opens—on a rocky patch of Italian coastline, circa 1962, when a daydreaming young innkeeper looks out over the water and spies a mysterious woman approaching him on a boat—Jess Walter's Beautiful Ruins is a dazzling, yet deeply human, roller coaster of a novel. From the lavish set of Cleopatra to the shabby revelry of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, to the back lots of contemporary Hollywood, Beautiful Ruins is gloriously inventive and constantly surprising—a story of flawed yet fascinating people navigating the rocky shores of their lives while clinging to their improbable dreams.

Hike: Lower half of Sanitas

Looks like it may be chilly, but if it's not raining, we will hike the Sanitas Valley/Dakota Ridge trail (note -we may go up to the first overlook on the east side of Sanitas, but we won't be hiking up the whole way).

We will still meet at Vic's and carpool.

Thanks to Valerie for the book recommendation!

Kristin, This is completely random, but we were talking about the flower girl in your upcoming wedding and I mentioned that the flower girl at my wedding was super excited because she read this book...Junie B. Jones Is (Almost) a Flower Girl (Junie B. Jones #13)

I need more than 3 days notice for events, especially with having to read for the meeting.

Deborah - I always post these a month in advance - you may want to check your email settings with meetup to be sure you are getting the initial invites.

I get them, at most, a week in advance. I'll have to look into my settings. Thank you.
