I LOVE singing in different languages - the hardest song I ever learned was Nkosi Sikelele in Zulu! I regulary sing in English, Brazilian Portuguese and French, and have learned songs in Cape Verde creole, German and Spanish. Am a beginning percussion student. I'm honored to work with many outstanding Boulder & Denver musicians including Paul Cotugno, Bill Kopper, Bijoux Barbosa, Chris Lee, Raoul Rossiter, Jill Fredericksen, Jeff Jenkins, John Grigsby, Dan Geisler, Ken Walker, Ron Bland, Francisco Marques, Dan Fairchild, Jerry Hunter and Scott Martin, and miss singing with the great Joao Junqueira!
I sing jazz & standards, Brazilian bossa & samba, French pop/cabaret from 1940s-70s, a few Cape Verde mornas, and show tunes, with a focus on the work of Stephen Sondheim and Rodgers & Hart.
This group is the best way to find out what's happening in the Boulder music scene - and keep my own audience informed too! Great work, Jane!
