The Male Orgasm & The Female Orgasm
In 1988 Bill Moyers interviewed Joseph Campbell for his six-part PBS series, The Power of Myth. At one point in the interview Bill Moyers asked, "What does it feel like to be God?" Joseph Campbell answered, "Imagine what you feel at the peak of sexual climax. That's what God feels all the time."
Seems orgasm is a moment when we meet God. In ourselves. And each other.
Or would it be more correct to say, when we finally surrender, completely, God is evident?
God being that omnipotent force that is aware of and appears as everything all at once. The source of original magic.
According to a study done at Stanford in 1994, the experiences and sensations of orgasm are almost identical in men and women. The same intensity, frequency, and durations of pelvic muscle contractions. The same increase in heart rate, blood pressure, and hyperventilation. The same levels of increased oxytocin, the hormone that induces feelings of bonding and love.
While the male and female experience of orgasm may be similar, the journey to orgasm for men verses women is a different matter all together - women arriving from one corner of the cosmos, men from another. All roads lead to God moments.
These differences are what make life extraordinary and potent. Without our differences there would be no experience of the cosmic explosion that occurs through contrast. Giving us the ability to see. Manifest. And live what has never appeared before.
