Art Inspired by the Land – Nature Art Show Opening Reception

Boulder’s Open Space and Mountain Parks Department is excited to announce that we will host an art show in late summer at the Boulder Public Library Canyon Gallery (1001 Arapahoe Avenue, Boulder). This show will celebrate art created by the community and inspired by OSMP lands. Please join us for appetizers, quartet music from the Boulder Philharmonic, and beautifully inspiring community art celebrating your protected lands and wildlife. This reception is free and open to the public. The art show will run from July 20 – August 29 during normal library hours. Visit the Open Space and the Arts web page, for more information.

Yes! Lauren, who runs this site, offers moon hikes periodically. I'm doing one in July (see below) which has more of a kid focus, but will be fun for adults too if you like kids.

      Nature at Night
      Sun. July 21, 8:30 - 10 pm
Naturalist Dave Sutherland will lead you into the mysterious world of nocturnal animals. Find out why the dark is not as scary as it seems! Explore your senses in the darkness: listen like a bat, smell like a moth, feel with your whiskers and learn to see by moonlight. Bring a jacket and mosquito repellant just in case. Meet at Sawhill Ponds. Ages 6 and up

Deborah, check out our web page at It's the city of Boulder schedule of free nature hikes. It's where we typically list our full moon hikes, telescope programs, etc.
