What type of software are you involved with?

My company develops software for the health insurance industry. We have older COBOL applications as well as newer systems written in Java.

What is your role in the Software Development Process?

I manage my company's ISO program. We develop processes that ensure quality throughout the SDLC. The main focus of ISO is continual improvement, meeting customer requirements, and ensuring customer satisfaction. A lot of what I do is helping associates across my company figure out how to do things more effectively, efficiently, and with more quality. Then I follow up after changes have been made to ensure the end goal was actually met.

I went to Appalachian State University in NC where I received a BS in Applied Math with a Minor in Physics. Since then, I have been a programmer, manager, and project manager in the software development field.
