Sanitas is generally rated moderate strenuous. It's a great cardio burn for those who are getting acclimated or want a good work out.
Meet on the north/hospital side of the road, at the trail map which is approx. 1/4 mile slightly uphill on the trail. Parking can be a bit of a challenge, either by the hospital, off the pavement on the opposite side, or further up the road at the Centenial Trailhead.
At the trail map we will take the trail to the left, which climbs steeply with several wood/rock steps. There are two or three false summits which provide good resting spots we head up.
The summit provides a great view of North Boulder and to the opposite glimpses of Indian Peaks. After a steep gravely descent the trail turns into switchbacks then to Dakota Ridge to complete the loop.
