April: The Pink Moon
Flowers begin to appear, including the widespread grass pink or wild ground phlox. Other variations indicate more signs of full spring, such as Sprouting Grass Moon, Egg Moon, and Fish Moon (common among coastal tribes).
Starting from the east parking lot of Eben G Fine park, we'll take the View Point trail to the Flagstaff trail. We'll watch the full moon rise at 6:54pm and enjoy the views. Plan on being out 1.5 hours and bring a headlamp. Distance should be 3-4 miles and 800 ft elevation.
I'll be making a chocolate fondue and request that everyone attending bring something to dip in it. Some ideas are fruit, nuts, candied ginger, pound cake, animal crackers, etc. Use your imagination!
After the hike we'll go for food and drinks in town.
