Full Buck Moon: Named for when the new antlers of buck deer push out from their foreheads in coatings of velvety fur. It was also often called the Full Thunder Moon, thunderstorms now being most frequent. Sometimes it's also called the Full Hay Moon.
We'll take Bear Canyon Trail to the intersection with Mesa then head south on Mesa for a mile or so and return. Total distance will be about 4 miles and 750 ft elevation gain. After the hike we'll head for a food and drinks.
As always be prepared for the weather and bring a headlamp.
