I went ahead and closed the poll so everyone would have time to go out and pick up or order their copy of the book online and still have plenty of time to read for the March meetup. The book choice is "Princess: A true story of life behind the veil in Saudi Arabia Vol 1" by Jean Sasson.
Stay tuned for details on the location. There's a tie in the polls right now, so if you have a preference please take a minute to say so.
After too many moons of waiting and wanting to read more books with a book club, I finally decided to end the search efforts and just start a new one. One that will hopefully create an environment for everyone to make some new friends, have some fun, and most importantly expose everyone to some great new books they may never have chosen to read on their own. Even if some of the books don’t always suite your tastes; hopefully we’ll all still enjoy good company and conversation while gaining some insight into ourselves and our personalities (and obviously the personality of the member who suggested that book! Not to worry, we’ll only mock you after you’re gone) If that’s not enticing enough on its own, most book clubs typically meet over coffee, wine, or some other beverage of choice which in turn lends to eating yummy desserts or some tasty new dishes. So come on out and indulge your brain and your mouth while sharing your thoughts and opinions. Let’s read some books!
