Hi, I grew up on a farm near Mammoth Cave. I miss the country at times now that I live in the city. Thought this would be a great way to get outdoors more, besides just my garden. :-)
I walk, sometimes run, here in town with my dogs. Keeps us all happy and active. I used to walk in the woods quite a bit growing up and would visit Mammoth Cave trails fairly often.
Went to Shanty Hollow once with friends. I enjoyed that quite a bit. Oh yeah, then there were the hikes to the cave on my grandfather's farm a few years ago, and the Lost River trail with my dogs, and the hike to the old cemetery on a farm out Barren River Road and.....the woods on our family farm. I will add those to the list.
I like it. Lots of fun.
I've always been "square," so join the chorus!
Jane, fully mended. Look out I'm back in the hunt for adventure. Will soon be ready to paddle. Then you flip me over (not off) and get your pay back.
Surgery went well. No post-op problems, just a of muscle tightness and spasms from the doctor positioned me on table. One night in hosptial. Can't drive for another week yet so we can't have any secret rondezvouses or . . .
I've been wondering how he was doing. Let me know if you hear back.
Thanks Jane! That is so sweet of you. Hopefully, I will be in better shape to keep up (I've hired a personal trainer to help me train for my ultimate kayaking adventure/marathon in August; 146 miles in 7 days)! I will always have issues with my knees and hips! But I'm trying not to let it keep me from being active!
