After collecting trash, pet waste and recyclables, volunteers are invited to Bogert Park for a post clean-up celebration featuring lunch, live music by Jawbone Railroad, raffle prizes, children’s activities, and a showcase of local businesses and organizations who support a sustainable Bozeman.

· REI Bozeman and Project WET will be providing customized pet waste bags for the clean-up event to encourage Bozemanites to pick up pet waste to keep it from washing into our waterways.

· Montana Conservation Corps will be reaching out to community groups and businesses to help recruit cleanup crews.

· Pacific Steel & Recycling will provide bins for large metal items collected during cleanup.

· The Montana Weatherization Center will be setting-up their mobile weatherization trailer for hands-on weatherization demonstrations.

The Gallatin Earth Celebration is an Earth Day celebration held in Bozeman, MT focused on education, outreach, and service. Emerging from the traditional “Bozeman Clean-up Day”, the Gallatin Earth Celebration has grown into a larger partnership between Montana State University, the City of Bozeman, local businesses and organizations, and independent citizens. The goal of the GEC is to inspire environmental stewardship and pride of place by bringing community members together to clean-up our neighborhoods, learn what is happening in our region to advance sustainability, and get involved.

One other thing: you are all invited to our UU service tomorrow morning at 10 at the Senior Center, where the theme is Children and the Earth: Honoring Earth Sunday.

I hope it doesn't snow, as it is predicted, because my congregation is planning a park clean-up tomorrow behind the Senior Center where we meet for worship. If it does snow, we will hopefully have a snow day next Sunday!

This year's clean up seemed to be better attended than last year and it was very well organized. A job well done by the many people and volunteers who directed us all toward the events. I felt like I was part of a bigger picture.
