We would like to invite you to a continuing series of energy related lectures each Friday Noon at the MT Weatherization Training Center. This series was organized at the beginning of the year by the City of Bozeman Sustainability Office and the Wx Training Center to support the city’s 10% Energy Reduction Goals. Our intent is to provide practical information so that people can make real changes to their energy footprint.
Every Friday we provide a technical expert to explore one aspect of residential energy use: In the past, we’ve covered energy audits, heating systems, electric use, high performance windows and many other topics. Our focus now will be shifting from existing homes to new construction. We get a mix of homeowners, builders and trades people and drill down into specific questions.
In August, we are concentrating on Renewable Energy. Last week’s subject was Solar Hot Water Systems. This Friday, the 9th, Ron Huber from Harvey’s Plumbing and Heating will provide detailed info on Ground Source Heat Pumps. After that, it will be Solar Electric (PV) systems, and Rainwater and Grey-water systems. On August 30th, we are hosting an extended Renewable Energy Fair with lots of local venders and installers available to answer questions.

I send out a description and reminder of the upcoming workshop each week. If you would like to be kept informed of these workshops, please e-mail me at [masked] and I will put you on our list.
