Renewable Energy Fair

On August 30th, the MT Weatherization Training Center is hosting a Renewable Energy Fair with local venders and installers available to answer questions. Bozeman residential customers alone consume over $28 million dollars of utilities!  Come learn what our community has to offer to help reduce this burden for our community and create a sustainable future for generations to come.

Every 30-45 minutes, Weatherization Experts will be onsite to give you a tour of our training center and answer your building science questions.

Local renewable energy contractors will have exhibits to touch and feel the new technology, including Solar PV, Solar Hot Water, Grey Water Recycling, Rain Water Harvesting, and Hydroponic Exhibits

And sign up for the Bozeman Energy Smackdown ( to qualify for monthly $250 gift cards as well as two $1000 grand prizes! All at one location, the Montana Weatherization Training Center.

I almost forgot, lunch is on us! Enjoy free hot dogs, hamburgers, and drinks while you create your ideal energy efficient home or building! Click here for our full workshop schedule! Contact James Baerg, at [masked] for more information.

Every Friday we provide a technical expert to explore one aspect of residential energy use: In the past, we’ve covered energy audits, heating systems, electric use, high performance windows and many other topics.  Our focus now will be shifting from existing homes to new construction.  We get a mix of homeowners, builders and trades people and drill down into specific questions.

This series was organized at the beginning of the year by the City of Bozeman Sustainability Office and the Wx Training Center to support the city’s 10% Energy Reduction Goals.  Our intent is to provide practical information so that people can make real changes to their energy footprint.

I send out a description and reminder of the upcoming workshop each week. If you would like to be kept informed of these workshops, please e-mail me at [masked] and I will put you on our list.
