The 6,000-Year Story of Solar Energy


Based on his newest book, Let It Shine: the 6,000-Year Story of Solar Energy, John Perlin will give several presentations in Bozeman covering solar energy’s rich history and how early solar energy pioneers and innovators provided the foundation for today’s cutting-edge applications and technologies. He will also explain how the solar renaissance benefits Montanans.

An international expert and author on solar energy, Perlin has lectured extensively in North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. Perlin is also the author of A Forest Journey: The Story of Wood and Civilization as well as From Space to Earth: The Story of Solar Electricity. He is a Professor of Physics and coordinates the California Space Grant Consortium at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
