"Last Call" documentary film screening

Guest speaker and screening of the documentary “Last Call”; a documentary that examines the predictions and impact of one of the most important and controversial environmental books of all time, “The Limits to Growth”, published four decades ago. The author’s primary message was that the human footprint, if unchecked, would grow beyond the carrying capacity of the planet on a sustainable basis. They concluded that humanity must adapt to the planet’s limits or risk overshot, which could result in the collapse of global support systems and human decline. Last Call takes a look at the challenges we face today, 40 years after the original publication.

"The Limits to Growth" followed shortly after the book "Diet for a Small Planet" which made the case for environmental vegetarianism. People were beginning to understand the food and environment relationship in the early 1970s. Much work remains to be done!

There is significant overlap when it comes to the Industrial Food system, Climate Change and the carrying capacity of the planet.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
