Michael Schuld will be giving a talk on Git. Git is a version control system, which helps programmers work in teams and fix their screw ups ;)

This meetup will be more programmer centered but can still be useful for other game devs.

Be sure to bring a laptop if you can.

General Topic List:

Unity: best settings for source control

Github: pushing, merging, and pull requests

git: staging, committing, branching, stashing, merging, diffing, gitk

Anyone see the Unity 4.2 release notes? Text based asset serialization for scenes, materials, prefabs etc. in the free version of Unity. Perfect for git version control.

Yeah, binary worked fine, but it made it impossible to see what changed just by looking at the history. Using binary forced you to keep good logs if you wanted a good history, but sometimes you just don't know what you changed in your scene or prefab.

Sometimes I changed something I forgot about doing (or accidentally) and would want to revert it if I knew what it was. That will be possible now! :D.
