Absolutely. I believe there is always more to learn, always more work to be done, and to have a group with so much accumulated knowledge I would be the worst kind of fool to not learn as much as I could. I have a very open mind, and having lived through a few personal challenges, I have realized that I have so much to learn still.
I want people to see what a Prepper truely is. An individual who values their life and the lives of their loved ones enough to be ready for a very bad, and very real, and increasingly likely scenario. Wishfull thinking will not feed you or protect you. That being said, we are also normal, friendly people and that is something I would like for others to see.
I certainly would be.
I believe that good people have the right to protect themselves, to be prepared and have access to any knowledge that could help them survive. I have no bias and a very open mind.
Going on 13 years ago now, Y2K was a real scare for me. I realized how dependent we were on things like electricity, computers etc and without them our world would shut down. I was 15 then and began learning all I could that could help me survive on my own. I am trying to get back to the level of preparedness I was once at, and I hope that I can do so soon. I think something that would be fun and educational for a group like this would be a three day stay in the woods, putting to practical use the things we learn. My interests since I was a child were Firearms and their safe, proper use and that is what I have occupied my time with as a hobby, sport, and a skill that I believe would be essential to survival wether it is gathering food or defending yourself. I am sure you all have experience with firearms, but if there is a need for the things I have learned I would love to pass on any knowledge I have. I think a group shoot covering saftey, tactics, maintence etc might be fun aswell.
Well lets see. My name is Phillip Hicks, I am 28 years old and have been interested in survival and preparedness since I was a child. I look forward to meeting you all and sharing just as much I learn.
All I can say is that I can't wait for another meeting. Being able to meet you all was a great experience and I learned a lot. The presentations were great and so were you guys. I felt very welcome as a new comer, and I look forward to contributing in the future whenever I can.
