"A Taste of Vegan" Cooking Classes-Anna Maria Is Community Ctr-Sumptuous Salads

  • Mar 27, 2014 · 12:00 PM

We had another great turnout at our third cooking class with abundant food and fun! 1 more cooking class in this series…but the class has been renewed for 6 more sessions after this week. Each class will be every Thursday during lunch hours through Easter week except for Spring break.

We'll be using recipes from my bestselling books, "Eat Vegan on $4 a Day," and "Kitchen Divided-Vegan Dishes for Semi-Vegan Households."

Fresh Market has generously supplied the food, thank you very much! You'll get a full lunch and demo of all recipes.

The Anna Maria Island Community Center is the only place taking reservations. We're in a larger room now. So be sure to call them at [masked]-1908. Payment with a credit card or check reserves your spot.

You may recall I taught classes here before my books...when I taught as a trained cooking instructor for Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine's "The Cancer Project" for 6 years in the Sarasota/Bradenton area. I've also taught cooking classes at Whole Foods in Sarasota, Tampa, and all of the South Florida Whole Foods that have facilities for class instruction. As well as cooking demos at the largest VegFests in the US/Canada. I'll be back as a speaker at New York's VegFest for the 3rd year in a row March 1-2. Seattle & Colorado VegFests after that doing food demos and speaking.

The fee for these new classes covers a percentage that goes to the community center for facility amenities and staffing, the rest buys supplies.

These will be the only classes I teach before my next books, "Paleo Vegan," and #4, on vegan fitness come out. And then back on book tour. :)

I'll post a meet-up reminder for each class, but I thought I'd give you a heads up in case you'd like to get this on the calendar. Thanks for your interest and hope to see you there!!

Though I hope you will, a reminder that RSVPing "Yes" to this Meet-up here will NOT reserve your spot. Calling the community center is the only thing that accomplishes that. :)

You can follow news about the classes on or on "Eat Vegan on $4 a Day" Facebook page. Thanks for your support and interest!

Also, big apologies for not changing/modifying the meet up. My new book "Paleo Vegan" just came out this week and is listed as one of Amazon's to 30 "Hot New Releases" of ALL cookbooks! That a Fox 13 story on my vegan running and all my books this week has imploded my inbox. A good thing, but no time....thanks for understanding.

Actually...the remaining classes have been cancelled at the community center and have been moved to my home, 610 Emerald Lane, Holmes Beach, FL. The new dates: April 3, 7 and 14. We are already getting close to a full house...the classes are FREE since the food has been donated by Fresh Market! So be sure to e-mail me at [masked] to confirm your spot. Please include your contact info. New times are 11-12:30. Thanks!
