Movie: “The People vs. The State of Illusion “ with follow-up discussion

I've seen this very powerful film which delves into the thought process and how it affects the reality we create in our lives, and particularly, the quality of our lives.  It's probably the best film I've seen on this subject and highly recommend it.

About The People vs. The State of Illusion:
The film questions the very nature of reality, and through an examination of our perceptions, beliefs and imagination, makes you both judge and jury in what will be the most important trial you will ever witness. This must-see psychological movie includes, as expert witnesses, some of the nation's leading thinkers in the fields of neuroscience, biochemistry, psychology, quantum physics, and consciousness theory, including Dr. Thomas Moore, Dr. Candace Pert, Debbie Ford, Dr. Joe Dispenza, Dr. Robert Jahn, Dr. Peter Senge, Brenda Dunne, and Dr. Michael Vandermark.

DVD's of this film may be purchased for $30 at their website: http://thestateofillusion.com/ .

The film will be followed with Q&A led by our member, Steve Kassel, MFT.

To learn more about Steve Kassel, MFT, visit: http://www.kassel.us/ .

Parking:
Weekend parking is openly available for this otherwise residential permit-parking area. With our attendance, you might end up needing to walk a block or two.  The Institute is a beige somewhat Spanish style residence with terra cotta tiled roofing and a blue ADD van in the driveway.  It is right on the triangle intersection where three streets meet: Gregory Way, Schumacher Drive, and Hayes Drive.

Optional Early Dinner to Follow:
I will be scheduling an optional dinner together with our host, Steve Kassel, so we can socialize and continue our discussion of the movie over some good food.  I'll try to find something within walking distance and will post the details soon.

Be sure to indicate in the comments section if you will be joining us for dinner so I have an accurate head count for our dinner reservation.  Thank you.  :D

Gratitude Donations:
A jar will be placed next to the entrance door to accept donations for BILA, The Biofeedback Institute of Los Angeles, our venue sponsor, who generously offers their office space at no charge to us.  Please drop in what you can to help cover their time, electricity and water usage while there, and to support the important work this non-profit organization does for our community.

BILA: Biofeedback and Biocomp are dedicated to
finding ways to improve brain functionality through neurophysiology and neurotechnology.  http://www.biocompresearch.org/ .

This is a really great film, and come join us for dinner afterward.  See you there!

Hi everyone. I look forward to seeing you at 2. Volee was wonderful enough to send a reminder out for cancellations and to ask you to email me too, but I had erred in cutting and pasting from a previous meetup for you to back-channel email me. NO NEED TO ALSO LET ME KNOW THROUGH EMAIL! Sorry for any inconvenience.

      Are there any open spots?

I guess this group is too exclusive for the like of me. Waiting until the last minute when several have canceled and not updating the waitlist is kind of WHATEVER. I wanted to go.

I just realized I can go but you have wait list only. Is it a long list? I live close by and could walk there if parking is tight.

Hi. Just saw Sonia's message. I thought there was room for a few more since it only shows 18 coming and there's room for 25. I had just asked (emailed) a friend if she could make it, but maybe that's mute. What's the story? Thanks.

Hi folks. For dinner I'd like to suggest
The Brewdog Pub which is one long block away:
8300 Wilshire Blvd, Beverly Hills,[masked]http://www.brewdogpub.com/ . It's a notch up on simple fare: pizzas, sandwiches, salads, shrimp tacos, veggie burger Portobello burger, etc. Happy hour 3-8pm. It's a simple environment as opposed to much pricier restaurants in the immediate area. Otherwise there's Sushi Boss 4 blocks away: http://www.bosssushi.com/menu.html .

Let me know which restaurant you prefer and I'll make a reservation when we get near the date. Thanks!

Dinner is not confirmed for me. I have Celiac and my choices for dining are limited so whether I can attend dinner is contingent upon the choice of eating establishment.

So sorry, it's very limited there on Sundays, unless we pick a pricey restaurant which most people will not attend. Thank you Jentana for responding, very nice of you!

I think it'll be a very good idea to have something to get energized and to get OUT of the "STATE of ILLUSION". ;))
