LLI: "Infidelity: Beyond Trauma to Transformation"

For our practicing therapists, this conference presented by LLI may be of interest to you:

Even the most experienced therapist can feel overwhelmed by couples struggling with infidelity. The goal of this conference is to present a wide range of clinical thinking about treating infidelity from the best experts on the subject; to offer the latest research on the science of trust and betrayal; to illustrate clear examples of how to treat couples struggling with this crisis; and to have provocative dialogue as the faculty discuss the similarities/differences in their approaches.

We will discuss the complexities of monogamy and the motivations behind infidelity, as well as the values of the therapist, which affect clinical decisions. There will be a focus on the impact of technology on infidelity, managing secrets and how much detail about the affair to disclose, and the erotic recovery for a couple after an affair. You will learn the most current methods for helping a couple best determine whether the legacy of an affair will be simply survival, a break-up, or a transformative experience for the relationship.

John & Julie Gottman, Ph.D., presenting new research on the Science of Trust and Betrayal

Esther Perel, M.A., couples therapist and author of Mating in Captivity

Ellyn Bader, Ph.D., renowned couples therapist and co-author of Tell Me No Lies

Marty Klein, Ph.D., expert on cybersex & porn; author of Sexual Intelligence

Tammy Nelson, Ph.D., sexologist and author of The New Monogamy

“For nearly twenty years Lifespan Learning Institute has brought together leading experts from around the world to present their latest research and critical thinking.

Since 1992, the Lifespan Learning Institute has collaborated with the University of California for a series of high level clinical conferences for mental health professionals. The response has been overwhelmingly positive. Our conferences remain often sold out.

Our training programs are cutting edge, effective and immediately relavant. Lifespan offers a great way to learn directly from leaders and legends in the mental health field.

Continuing education credit is available for the majority of our training programs. We're approved by APA, BRN, NBCC, California Board of Behavioral Sciences and California Society of Clinical Social Work.”
