As Ramachandran says: Here we have a 5lb piece of jelly that's about the size of your palm, and it could contemplate the vastness of interstellar space, it could contemplate on itself contemplating on itself.
Learning and memory as this is essentially what makes us who we are, it makes us our personal story, our identity, our worldviews.
