Depression & Area 25 of the Brain

There is a belief supported by the pharmaceutical companies that depression is a hardware (brain) problem that affects the software (subconscious). There is no science behind this, in fact just the opposite is true as you will see in this video released last year.

Subconscious Restructuring® has 20 years of documented results in regard to depression and we intend to use Dr. Mayberg's research to prove our hard data will translate to a change in area 25 without the use of pharmaceuticals or shocking the brain.

You can see our current data at http://www.subconscio....

The first paragraph of this statement is false. This post was added by a person who was trying to gain business through appealing to our members. Over the years, there have been many publications in medical journals that focus on scientific findings which support the notion that depression is in fact often a "hardware (brain) problem which affects the software (subconscious)" as well as reports addressing depression as a genetic disorder. Naturally, all of this is still undergoing further research.

Actually Brodman's Area 25 is a governor of sorts to insula and other parts of the brain and has much to do with anxiety and depression. Not sure what was being sold by the previous poster as I did not watch the video.
