03/23/11 - Welcome to Brandon Women’s Book Club! Meet other women in the area that share an interest in reading all kinds of fascinating works of literature. We will read a new book every month - either an old or new classic book that will transport us to a new place and point of view. Come to laugh, share stories and make new friends!
We read fiction or non-fiction from any era and from different counties (as long as the work is available in translation). We don't limit ourselves - we can read whatever our club members want. Each month a member will suggest a book and location for the next month’s meeting – and then will serve as the meeting facilitator.
We meet once a month on Saturday or Sunday in the afternoon or early evening, primarily at different restaurants in the Brandon area, to enjoy good food and lively conversation. We are also open to members hosting in their house – but it is not a requirement for joining us. We discuss the book we've read in the past month. Some months will we may have another book that is more of a "light reading" selection (for those of us that one book a month is not enough).
Come meet some new friends and read some good books. Also, we may organize some other activities for the group – such as movies and cultural events - which will only be available to our membership. So, to join our merry band, please answer the (brief) profile questions and you're in! This club promotes a friendly, warm, low-key atmosphere. Join up and bring a friend - all women who love literature as we do are welcome to attend. Let's come together, network together and succeed together. We look forward to seeing you at the next event! Cheers!

The “ABCs” of Membership in the Riverview/ Brandon - We have put in place a small membership fee of $5.00 for every six months. This: (a) helps allay our costs in maintaining the Meetup Web site, (b) encourages people who RSVP to actually show up, and (c) allows us to plan for how large a venue we’ll need for the event.
Extra funds above the Meetup fees will be donated to charity. There is no separate charge for the individual events. The six-month membership fee is assessed every April 15th and October 15th. We hope, through this, to build a strong & vibrant group.
