2014 Lancaster Roots And Blues Festival

LANCASTER ROOTS AND BLUES, A FESTIVAL OF MUSIC.

http://lancasterrootsandblues.com

Starting Friday, February 21 and Saturday, February 22, 2014 in Lancaster Pennsylvania, USA. This annual festival features artists from around the USA and beyond.

Of course there will be Blues and Roots music. (Roots, liberally defined by us, includes a variety of Americana music including, Blues and Jazz, Folk and Soul with Rockabilly and a taste of New Orleans music, a smidgeon of Rock n’ Roll and even a bit of Roots Reggae.) The musicians who play at Lancaster Roots and Blues are masters of their craft. They can play! There will be no pre-recorded vocals, no Auto-tune, you won’t hear Pop music and this is not to be confused with a Techno fest! These artists play music from the heart and with a whole lot of soul! For sure, if you want, you will be able to dance the night away.

There will be over 50 artists at 6 venues, with 10 stages all within a few blocks of each other. The entire City of Lancaster is a National Historic District and the only city in the U.S. with that designation. It is a spectacular walking city with great bars and restaurants and features a vibrant arts and music scene. Visit our many art galleries, museums, and antiques and crafts shops.

After taking the little tour of downtown Lancaster, I'm leaning toward wandering around town or heading home to break out the bike for a few hours.

If anyone is staying more local and can't attend this, Johnny Neal is playing at the Augustine Inn Fri, Feb 21st. I will post something for this other event soon. NOT that this doesn't sound awesome! Enjoy!

If you volunteer, you get dinner the night you work and also get a free ticket for the night you aren't working plus a free tshirt :) Good idea about staying the night. I may have to do that as well especially since i'll be working late the one night!
