Samba is a lively, rhythmical dance from Brazil. Introduction to Brazilian
Samba Dancing covers movement fundamentals through the dance elements of body, action and energy.
This course explores Brazilian samba styles such as "Samba no pe", "Samba Reggae", and "Samba de Roda". Students will gain a valuable understanding of and appreciation for the nature of this dance form while learning basic movements and terminology.
Throughout the session, the class will examine different aspects of the three dance forms, while equipping students with the fundamentals of each style. While no previous training is required, classes may use basic body isolations found in other dancing classes.
This class will break down steps, technique and also emphasize bringing your own style and personality to the dance moves.
The intent is to give students an awareness, skills and admiration for the physical body and its expressive capabilities.
