The best interactions are always with a meal so trips to Portuguese and Brazilian eateries would be terrific. Additionally, informal gatherings with special guests from Brazil - particularly artists or the media (journalists) - who can discuss the latest in Brazilian culture.
I speak intermediate level Portuguese but would like a lot more practice to improve my skills. As a child with a part Brazilian background, I heard a lot in my aunt & uncle's household.
My aunt took me to Rio a number of years ago when I was quite young. We stayed there about two weeks. Unfortunately I don't remember that much as a young child except for the beaches and the huge feijoada dishes at the local restaurants.
I'm an internationalist working in NYC as a Contract Manager in the field of architecture/engineering and energy. I have a passion for international affairs, films and art & culture.
