Bring your water toys, friends, energy and your appetite for a leisurely day of paddling and picnicking at Ballard Park, (see map). It's an Easy in and out for Kayaks and Canoes, and tere is a ramp for boats as well.
I have two Yaks available to share. I'm a novice paddler myself but its very easy to learn and I would be happy to help anyone wanting to give it a go. There is also a place to rent yaks and Paddle Boards for the day across the river as well called (Paddling Paradise. [masked]). Reservations with them are advisble
I did this paddle the weekend before Labor Day with friends and was incredibly blessed to see a pod of dolphins passing by at the mouth of Indian River Lagoon. Manatees are also in area.
There will be sloppy Joes, Hot Dogs, chips, watermelon and Lemonade for lunch but your welcome to bring somehing else to grill if you prefer and your choice for a drink.
Sun screen is Highly advisable and if you have camp chairs they would be a good thing as well.
If you do plan to come please RSVP with number of guests so I can make sure to have enough food.
Looking forward to meeting new Christians with an interest in paddling, and or people just looking for a fun day out to picnic and fellowship.
