Greetings from the Bay Area. I started officially playing Bridge last week here. The group is titled "The Non-Violent Bridge Group". I am not sure if that makes me feel better or worse that they had to label themselves non-violent.
I hope you are all well.

Hi Mike. Nice to hear from you. I think you are safe out there. A lot of people refer to bridge as "contract bridge". People misread that as "contact bridge", come wearing knee pads and helmets, and are disappointed to find out that making the opponents "go down" doesn't mean literally flooring them. I have been playing bridge for almost 50 years, have lost only a few teeth, and haven't worn protective equipment for years. But if you decide to join a "Maltese Falcon" meet-up group, all bets are off.
Had a fantastic time

Such a nice group of people. And John does a superlative job of organizing AND answering our bridge questions.
This is the first time for John and I. Do we start play at 6 pm or socialize or ?.. Just clue me in. Anything works for us. We are new to Chicago

Start playing immediately or have dinner first; it's up to you.
John and I will attend next Tuesday. Looking forward to meeting all of you

We welcome bridge players of all levels. We do not play duplicate, but Chicago (4-deal) bridge. At times we may play rubber bridge.
A great space to host our monthly Chicago Chicago Bridge Meetup group.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
