Monthly movie - Enough Said at Dukes at Komedia

Thank you Linda for hosting!  Sounds like a great movie, hope you all enjoy it!

Enough Said @ 6:30pm:

Completed just before he died, ENOUGH SAID sees James Gandolfini (The Sopranos, IN THE LOOP) play Albert, a jaded divorcee warily negotiating his return to the dating game, who meets Eva (Louis-Dreyfus, Seinfeld, Veep), a masseuse and single parent anxiously facing life as an empty-nester.

Directed by Nicole Holofcener (FRIENDS WITH MONEY, Parks and Recreation), this blessedly schmaltz-free romcom finds Albert and Eva overcoming their initial awkwardness to develop a deepening affection, while Marianne (Keener, A LATE QUARTET), one of Eva’s newest clients, seems keen to turn their professional relationship into something more.

Unexpected connections among the unlikely trio bring complications that prove that grown-up affairs can be fraught with embarrassment, if not heartache. Holofcener’s sharply written script perfectly fuels Gandolfini and Louis-Dreyfus’s bemused cynicism and touching vulnerability, and the end result is a complete joy.

I saw this film last week & loved it. I spent most of it with a half-smile on my face. I thought it was touching, funny, gentle, well scripted, with great performances all round.

Lovely gentle honest film about the nuances of relationships between the sexes. Quite sad that Gandolfini is no longer here

Are we getting together afterwards to discuss the film? I hope so as that is the whole point of a club. I haven't seen any mention of that.

Hi Jilliana, I did mention in my announcement about meeting up after to discuss the film. So depending on what the weather will be like, I hope as many members can join in.

Best to make a telephone booking. They don't now charge extra. Seats are the expensive price of £9.60. You can pay by card but you MUST bring the card with you when you collect your ticket anytime obviously before the Meetup at 6.00 p.m. You can also book on line. Seats are allocated so obviously we won't be sitting together if you book in advance!
Hopefully we will be meeting afterwards to discuss the film.

If ten people are already rsvp'd for Duke of York on Sunday how can you then change the venue and the film a few days before the event?

    October 24, 2013

No film had been chosen and the venue is a holding place. Komedia is still DoY so I'm hoping people will be happy with that. Sorry if it does mess with anyone's plans.

Hi Mariah, I didn't understand how it works. Now I do. Thank you.

I'm really looking forward to this one. Good choice Mariah. When & where are we meeting?

Guys, I'll be in Cornwall on Sun (hopefully surfing). As there are a lot of people coming and some interest in a specific movie I do not want to cancel. Will anyone volunteer to be the event host? You just have to show up at the meeting spot, keep an eye out for people coming.

Hey Mariah, I am happy to host but can we have it at Komedia? I would like to see "Enough Said". or is it a standing venue at Dukes?
