Monthly movie - Lego Movie at Komedia

Sunday is fun-day so lets go for a laugh and watch those quirky Lego dudes save Legoland!!!  Film starts at 1:30 so I'll be in the bar from 1pm.  I'm in seat G8, anyone want to come share the sofa with me?  ;-)

Lego Movie:

Emmet (Pratt) is just an average Lego figure who, after a bad case of mistaken identity, is tasked with saving Legoland from President Business (Ferrell), aka the dastardly Lord Business, who connives to control everything that makes life in the Lego universe worth living.

Thrown together with an unlikely band of crusaders, including the freethinking Wyldstyle (Banks) and the aged wizard Vitruvius (Freeman), Emmet embarks on a series of adventures that play delightfully on the interconnectivity of Lego itself.

In this film written and directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller (CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS, 21 JUMP STREET), Lego’s legion of fans are guaranteed madcap action, high comedy and fantastic 3D effects.

I am running late so not sure if I am going to make it. If I don't I will hope to see you all next time.

Always 15 min of previews if that helps...

Not sure about seeing it in 3D but I like clever animation films and the reviews are really good so look forward to seeing you there.

That's way too high-brow and arty a choice for me

...although that said, it was Mark Kermode's film of the week, and the reviews have been consistently positive - witty and snappy. Sorry I am away, otherwise I'd have overcome my highbrow reservations and joined you fine ladies for this experience. Enjoy! x

Hi Stella, I was allocated g7, so I may be sharing the sofa with you? I've already tried sitting on the front row (probably won't be doing that again :-/)

    Hi All,

Just joined but can't make this film due to work.
Do you always meet on Sunday afternoon?

    February 21, 2014

    • Mariah H.

Welcome to the group! There are meet-ups for all: weekday evenings, weekends, even weekdays daytime... The only 'set' meetup is the last Sunday of the month, but we do it whenever the movie we choose is on.

I'd say Lego for a laugh as Railway man was so dour

I've checked everywhere and clearly Brighton isn't releasing on the advertised day.. It's either a second trip to the Coens or Lego for a laugh.

Couldn't find Only lovers left alive playing here... did you have an alternate place its showing?

    February 20, 2014

  • Stella K.

Could we either have the lego movie or on a complete 360 loop, 'Only lovers left alive'?

Hi, I don't know when I can make it again as I'm busy getting ready to move. Please continue keeping me informed of what's on and I will come when I get a bit of free time. Thanks
