The Iron Duke has become a firm favourite of mine! The pub is warm and welcoming and serves wonderful Harveys ales. Their menu is full of British pub classics and it's reasonably priced. I've tried their new menu and it gets a 'thumbs up' from me!
The bar area is spacious with a nice atmosphere but they also have a 'dining area' behind the bar for larger parties. Wednesday is the night for their 'Jazz Jam' and we have plenty of time to have something to eat before the jazz starts at 9.00 pm.
For more details of their menu (now British Pub Grub and not Thai food as previously) and the pub generally, just go to: www.irondukebrighton.co.uk
The Iron Duke is in Waterloo Street, right on the Brighton/Hove border. Very central, so no excuses for not coming! Many major bus routes run along Western Road. Your nearest stop would be Norfolk Square or possibly Brunswick Place. You then walk down Waterloo Street towards the sea and the pub is close to the seafront on the right.
This one's a real winner! It's an interesting pub - it even has its own theatre! Just the place to go before the World Cup starts the next day!
