The Prince George

I thought we might try the George for a Christmas Meal or at the very least a Christmas drink or two.  I will check out the possibilities of the Christmas menu and whether it involves complicated pre ordering and let you know......

It is typical the only day I can not make it, is the 11th. I have always wanted to try the PG.
I hope you all have a delicious time.

P.S. I would happily pay a deposit to ensure you are not out of pocket in the event you have to leave a returnable deposit.

I have spoken to the pub and to be certain of getting a table, we will have to pay a deposit. Shall I do this, or should we just take a chance? I am reluctant to pay out real money, in case no one turns up.... but if everyone is very committed then I could do so.

Hi Jenny, if I may suggest if you have to pay a reservation deposit, then I would suggest asking for an upfront donation from anyone who is committing. You should never be out of pocket. I am sure people would not object if the deposit can than be used for drinks etc, or deducted from the cost of the meal. Other Meetup Hosts always ask for some upfront

Oops..... It is quite common practice where the host has an upfront expense, RSVP members pay an upfront fee. I am sure no one would object, if it means getting the right table, venue etc.

Thanks Jenny. That's very nice of you, but in all honesty I don't think I could get there before 8.30 on a weeknight, by the time I've got home from work (Burgess Hill to Worthing), walked and fed the dog, then driven over from Worthing........ I think I'll wait until you have a meetup on a Friday, when I finish earlier, or at the weekend instead. Thanks very much for the thought though :-)

Love to come but it's too early for me to get there on time.
