TALK - Practically talking

For this 'talk' I wanted to do something different, an idea I have had for quite a while, and with the cold dark nights setting in, now seems the perfect time to do it.

This session will be a practical one. We are going to have several stations set up with something different to photograph at each. Nothing as simple as point and shoot! The idea here is to try something new and push your creativity. Creativity can't be explicitly taught, but it can be encouraged and stimulated.

We will explore; lightpainting subjects, water splashes, smoke, macro and other cool creative ideas you can replicate at home, to improve your learning and understanding of photography.

You will need to bring along your camera, a suitable close-up lens (50mm / 24-70/105 / Macro), a tripod (you may be able to borrow one).
For the light painting we will be shooting longish exposures, up to 30 secs. If your camera cannot do this do not worry there is plenty you can still get involved with ;)

The concept was good and offered a lot for people to try and learn about. Perhaps a little ambitious doing 5 setups :/

Great evening - lots of ideas, learnt a lot, got chatting to new and more familiar people, very friendly and informative, got to play, and might have captured a few pleasing shots as well!
