OK some of you know the drill on this one by now, this is the second High Pressure Nights at the Green Door Store. The last one was great fun, the staff at Green Door had to clear a full dance floor at 4am. Anyway would be great to get a bunch of you down again, bring your dancing shoes, you'll need them on the cobbles.
We will probably meet up for a drink beforehand.
Facebook event here,
Below is the detailed description of the night.
High Pressure Nights
A music club for the open minded.
The Green Door Store is renowned for its musically diverse bookings and for breaking new acts, and it has become the venue of choice for gig going fanatics in Brighton since its birth 18 months ago.
High Pressure Nights looks to add to that reputation by taking the best bits of a veritable rainbow of musical genres - electronica, indie, nu wave, disco, 80’s, pop - and getting people dancing all night long.
The name High Pressure Nights is taken from a line in a 1979 post punk single "High Pressure Days" by the band Units, which was remixed in 2009 by Rory Phillips. This particular remix sums up many of the ideas at the heart of the club: a new twist on an old song that most people are unfamiliar with, and yet every time it gets played it gets people dancing.
High Pressure Nights promises to entertain and enlighten the Green Door Store's patrons in equal measures. By selecting a mixture of cross-genre classics coupled with new and interesting choices the music will appeal to the Green Door Store's existing music savvy customers whilst remaining immediate and accessible enough to draw new patrons into the fold.
Put simply, High Pressure Nights will be a fun night out in a diverse music club for this most diverse of Brighton venues.
