Sigur Ros

Sigur Ros coming (back) to Brighton is a very exciting thing – I’m surprised this hasn’t sold out yet.

The Brighton Centre - a building as beautiful on the inside as it is on the outside - is no-one’s favourite venue. It would take a pretty special band to get me in there; like Sigur Ros for example. With their lights/films/visuals, expansive sound and general sense of the dramatic, they are one of the few bands that could fill that massive space with a bit of atmosphere. Atmosphere is what they do.

Here’s a video taster for this tour: http://vimeo.com/67679907

There are still tickets available. And I have two spares, which I would be grateful if someone could take off my hands – message me if you want one (or two).

Well, that was pretty excellent. Mike, the last track is listed on a youtube video (live at Roskilde) as Popplagið (Untitled 8)...if that helps.

Thanks Ian, yes that was indeed the very track - and good to see you again too :-)

Wow! A thoroughly immersive audio visual experience, in which the guy's voice was like an ethereal portal into some Scandanavian afterlife. I'm not completely au fait with their recorded output, so does anyone know what that fabulous, final crescendo encore song was? That alone was worth the 2 years supply of cabbages! :-) Good to see you again, Bridget and Dave, and thanks for doing such a sterling organising job, Susie

Missed you all in there. Venue was better than expected. Roomy. Sigur Ros very slick indeed. Good sound

My guess would be that the only reason this hasn't sold out is the price. Would love to see them live, but £31? Really?!?

...had to flog 3 wagon loads of me cabbages to get ticket, but in the end I just couldn't resist. Appreciate it's a bit late in the day, but if you have time to ping me the meetup details e-mail Susie, that'd be great, otherwise I'll look out for you guys inside :-)

We'll be in 'The Globe' (Middle Street)from 7pm Mike and heading to the gig for about 8pm. Looking forward to seeing you as I haven't been to a film 'Meetup' for so long.

    Stage times for Wednesday:
    Doors: 18:30
    I Break Horses: 20:00 - 20:30
    Sigur Ros: 21:00
    Curfew: 23:00

I would propose meeting in a nearby pub at around 7 and heading to the venue at around 7.30 - do people think this is too early? Too late? I think anyone who wants to get a good spot down the front would probably have to get in quite early so I'm prepared to accept that I wont get a good spot down the front and just take a more relaxed approach to the evening. Let me know if you have strong views on the matter. If anyone can't make it til later we can try to find you in the venue as long as mobile signals are ok in there.

I'll send an email tomorrow confirming meet up details - check spam folders if you don't get it. Spennandi!

Ello. It's been a while since I came to a gig buddies gig. Really looking forward to this, and seeing some familiar faces. I saw Sigur Ros at The End of the Road this year, and they were very awesome. See you all Wednesday.

Has anyone here got a seated ticket that they want to swap for standing? Yes you heard right I'm looking for a seated ticket.

Ooh go on then… I'll take a ticket off you Susie if you still have them.

Both my tickets are spoken for already. You'll have to go through the official channels. Thanks though.

Gah!! Totally missed that it was on a Wednesday night. Now I have the dilemma of whether to skip my photography course that week.

I'm erring on the side of Sigur Rós at the minute. I'm certain I bought the ticket long before I signed up for the course, so they were there first.
