We'll do the actual building of our Little Free Library in Cameron Park (some friendly folks are loaning us use of their woodshop for the day).

If you would like to gather for breakfast before traveling there, come by 8 AM to the Brookfields Restaurant, 11135 Folsom Blvd. Rancho Cordova CA [masked]) [We have changed location so that no one will be heading back toward Sac'to for breakfast; we will all be heading toward Cameron Park.].

If you'd prefer to sleep a bit longer, just meet us there at Brookfield's to be ready to head out at 9.

Starting at 9, we will carpool to Cameron Park to saw all the wood and screw and glue it all together. (See the mockup pic for the general gist.)

If you are handy with wood, we'd love your help. But, feel free to join the trek just to "supervise" - (i.e., to watch those who know what they're doing do it)

We'll find a spot nearby for lunch, but feel free to bring your own sandwich.

We will see how far we get by 3 PM "quitting time."

Working on something constructive (and having it turn out so well) is oh so satisfying. I drove back home with such a super feeling!

It's better than a barn-raising! Come on, everybody, let's build a library--a Little Free Library! See you at Brookfield's at 8 o'clock Sunday morning. We'll depart at 9:00 for the construction site.

Going to garage sales this spring? Please purchase those garage sale book bargains! We would appreciate the donations! We have been told that kiddie books are the hardest to keep in good supply. So, do keep an eye out for good condition children's books that you think would be nice to have in a "Brights Action" library. Hang onto them until we get to the point to stock our little library.

    Especially nice to acquire --
    > exposure to the real world - NATURE & science, naturally!l
    > any books helpful to critical thinking, inquiry, reading
    > kiddie fiction with wonderful stories and characters
    > rhymes, magic and puzzles and
    > -- of course, old favorites of yours - Other ideas?

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
