3D modelling software you might be interested in

I thought that since at least 5 members interested in building a 3D printer, we should look at some of the software you might need to get into 3D printing.

I'd like everybody to have an idea how to use a printer before they take on the task of building one.

So, I recommend you down load and install Google Sketchup. Also you will need Blender 2.69, from
Don't be intimidated by Blender. We will only be using it to convert the sketchup.dae file output into .stl output for feeding to the printer.

Someone told me at the Build My Robot workshop, last Saturday, that you could buy a 3D printer from OFFICEWORKS!!
We'll have to talk about the pros and cons of building versus buying.
