In light of the YOW conference that is happening in December the local Functional Programming community will be getting together with some very high profile and well respected functional programming gurus to share an afternoon purity! We have some fantastic speakers lined up. Behold the gurus:

  • Brian Beckman
  • Rúnar Óli Bjarnason
  • Justin Sheehy
  • Jed Wesley-Smith

What an amazing line up! We may get one more speaker lined up before big day. Details of talks and times will be up as soon as we have them locked in.

This will be the first event at BFPG that will require a small admission fee. The price, which is yet to be determined, will include food and drink for the afternoon and cover the costs of hosting our speakers.

This is an event that's open to anyone who has a passion for Functional Programming and/or who his keen to see some international superstars in person.

Please come along, and bring your friends and anyone else who is interested! An opportunity to listen to people of this calibre does not come around very often. Make the most of it!

    Incredible. But I still don't know what Erik Meijer was driving at by saying that mutable state was ok. Coming from a total fundamentalist programmer, I'm sure he has a good point.

      Tony is one of our organisers and a prolific speaker at the group. Thus was a chance for him to have a break and for us to leave the floor open to people we can't normally invite to speak. I don't doubt he'll be making noise though ;)
