Firstly, this will be fun. Secondly I am proposing an event outside. It is subject to weather but particularly requires things like sunblock and water bottles. Just saying that first.
So the botanical gardens at Mount Coot-tha are gorgeous. The Japanese garden and the subtropical gardens are amazing. For the botanically inclined, the gardens are a treasure trove of AWESOME. For the rest of us, its is well... also awesome. But enough rambling.
I propose we meet at the Cafe Botanical (Menu) for 12:30. We can then enjoy some nibblies as we look out over the bamboo groves and lakes. (By the look of the prices I shall be enjoying the fries I think). Once we are settled in we can set up some games on the tables we have skillfully acquired or for those inclined to do so, explore the many wonders of the garden grounds. All 54 hectares of it if you feel up to it.
At 5:00 pm I invite anyone who is interested to join me in checking out the newly renovated planetarium. The planetarium has a regularly scheduled show at 6:00 called "Saturday Night Live" that a few members have expressed interest in attending. There is also a show narrated by Harrison Ford of all people but I think you have to book for that.
Several buses go directly to the front gates of the Garden. Two that I am aware of are the 598 and 471. PARK ENTRY IS FREE!
So some day of contingency updates!
The weather is great and I am excited! I have made a reservation for us at the Botanical restaurant. If the venue does not prove to be suitable for setting up gaming I propose we move to the garden lookout (After we eat and enjoy the restaurant a bit). The lookout is covered, has tables and has a beautiful view. It is a 5 minute walk from the restaurant, location 22 on the park map.
Finally, I do not have a paper tardis anymore :( Instead I will be recognizable by my AWESOME bow tie, being in close proximity to games, and at the table reserved under Shypanski. If you still can not find me give me a call (not a text) at 0432966381.
