How to build a split-menu system with a stock standard Joomla menu, using it in conjunction with content component parameters to build better “nested” content structures, defining SEF Urls and including SEO elements. This will be an example of the courses being offered by Darren when he commences his courses at the Edge in August. Come and get a free primer and ask any other questions you may have regards Joomla or Joomla related subjects. Below is a short Bio for Darren to show he is more then talk :)

Don't miss this is you can help it and remember, the more we can get to the meetings the better the range of speakers we can attract!

Darren is a University of Queensland trained Software Engineer who studied Machine Intelligence and Distributed Computing.  The possibilities and potential offered by the Internet captivated him during his studies, and he has specialized in Web Engineering for the past 15 years.  A staunch proponent of open-source software, he has been using the Joomla platform as an integral part of his practice since 2004 when it was still part of the now-defunct “Mambo” project.  In August, Darren will be presenting a series of Joomla workshops via “The Edge” aimed at beginner, intermediate and advanced Joomla users.  You can find more information about the workshops, and Darren’s areas of expertise at his website: http://www.aequitas-internet.com.au/

Cheers

Jeff

This was a very professional demonstration from Darren, I will be keen to see what else he can offer the group down the line, but not for the next few months at least as we try to get more coverage of what the group wants. There will be a new poll up shortly and I would like more people to take part even if you are one of the members who are unable to make the group but like to stay updated.
Carly made the suggestion of putting the basic content of each meeting into the discussions on here and I think this is a good idea now that I know we have so many members who are spread around QLD and unable to attend the meetings.
We are still looking for a logo for the BJUG and so would welcome any suggestions or feel free to send your suggestion to me via email - [masked].

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
