This group is for ladies in Brisbane who love to play golf, or who'd like to learn, but don't want to do it alone. I'm on the south side of Brisbane and I like to frequent pitch and putt clubs and some golf courses that I have found to be suitable for this type of group. I'd like to hear from members about their suggestions for playing and I'd be happy to organise golf dates for other women, even if I can't attend myself. Can also involve chatting over coffee or a drink afterwards.
If you need lessons, here are places I'd recommend:
Oxley Golf Complex has open clinics every Thursday night at 6pm till 7pm for $30 if you're on the south side. They are very helpful and it's an easy way to start learning without the pressure of being in large groups. I would recommend calling up on the day to see if there's room as the groups are usually small. The good thing about this is that there is no obligation to go every week. Just ask them if it includes clubs.
On the north side, Victoria Park Golf Complex has weekend golf clinics that run for 8 consecutive weeks starting early May and cost $200 (so $25 per 1 hour lesson). They provide clubs.
If you can go during the week they have ladies clinics for the same price, but also for 8 consecutive weeks.
They also have a 2 week 2x60min lessons on tues and wed evenings and saturday mornings for $99 for both lessons
There are also good clinics at Pacific Golf Club in Carindale. They are 90 min classes that run for 5 weeks. You have to call them for dates though, and cost.
I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
