Light Painting Back to Basics (Torches)

Torches (or flashlights if you are from the USA) are one of the fundamental tools of any light painter.

There are many many effects which can be achieved with the humble torch.

Torches come in many varieties, sizes and styles, are easily accessible, easy to use, and most importantly cheap (usually) so it is no surprise that they form an important part of the light painters toolkit.

At this meetup we will :

  • Look at a variety of types of torches and discuss their various pros, cons and purposes
  • Look at different styles of light painting that can be achieved with a torch
  • Split up into couples or small groups to experiment with the different techniques

(Note: you will receive a torch of your very own to take home, and the fee covers the cost of this )

5:30 - and it may be a bit drizzly tonight (but that can add to the effect)... Still Go for tonight - unless it starts to storm

We (my Daughter is interested in trying this out ) been debating about this since Sunday, and I though why not try something different. Can we pay @ the meetup ? Apart from the things for night time photography any thing else we need to bring ?

Hi, Id love to come but I don't have a pay pal account and i am not sure what to do? Sorry I have just never used it before.

    April 6, 2013

    • Andy Henderson

Ho Loryn, I'm happy for you to pay on the night (and have RSVPed a YES on your behalf). A remote shutter release is handy but not critical... you can manage OK without one :)
