Meet for a scenic walk from Kangaroo Point then up to Southbank and over the Goodwill Bridge then back around the back of Q.U.T. We always stop at the Jade Buddah for the $10 steak or $15 surf and turf meal AND THE FREE CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN.
After eating either catch the ferry directly back to Kangaroo Point to where the cars are parked (there is always plently of parking), or walk back over the Story Bridge (which is what we all usually do). Dress for walking rather than eating!! We are all VERY casual- so dress for walking rather than eating!
People can walk at whatever pace they want. It is friendly, relaxed and there is no pressure to power walk and fur kids are welcome too (but cannot come into the Jade Buddah of course). There is usually 15-20 people attending each Sunday. Please be aware that we leave EXACTLY at 4.
We meet EVERY SUNDAY -(the event is on Brisbane Riverside Social Walkers)- no matter what the weather is like- we catch the ferry over to the Jade Buddah to eat and then back again even if it is raining!!! So you never have to worry if it is on or not! Beers are $3.50 and cocktails are $4.00!!!!!
YOU CAN COME JUST FOR THE JADE BUDDAH PART IF YOU WANT- WE ALWAYS HAVE TABLES BOOKED- NEAR WHERE WE THEY COOK THE BBQ AND THEY ARE BOOKED UNDER - 'MEET UP -WALKING GROUP'
IF YOU FEEL REALLY ENERGETIC YOU ARE WELCOME TO DO THE WALK TWICE WITH MARK (when he attends- nearly every week) Come back to where we first met and do the walk again!!!! As well - some people RUN over the Story Bridge on the way back!
YOU NEVER NEED TO RSVP IF YOU DO NOT HAVE TIME- ANY SUNDAY THAT YOU WANT TO COME JUST TURN UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THE SUNDAY WALK IS THE ONLY TIME THAT A $1 FEE IS EVER REQUESTED BECAUSE IT PAYS THE MEET UP FEE FOR ALL OF THE GROUPS!
HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!!!
ALSO THERE IS A WALK EVERY THURSDAY - FOLLOWED BY DINNER AT THE STORY BRIDGE HOTEL - (DINNER ONLY THURSDAYS!!!)
We meet at the City Cat Terminal entrance it is near the JAZZ CLUB AT ANNIE STREET KANGAROO POINT.
