Test Data as a Service + 2 x Lightning talks

"Test Data as a Service"

Presented by Mark and Pete from Wotif.

They have collaborated to build a test data service that allows for the rapid and dynamic creation of test data for use in test automation. This idea is an extension of some of the best practice principles described in Jez Humble and Dave Farley's Continuous Delivery book as well as incorporating some other ideas and principles that they've picked up along the way.

The talk will cover:

- Guiding principles and motivations for this approach- How the system works and the benefits it provides over other common approaches- Examples of using the system in acceptance testing

Pizzas on from ~5.30pm with the talks kicking off at 6pm

Thank you for organizing the session. This is something new to me. I thought it to be something like randomly generated test data (ala perlclip).I have learnt something different today.Good work

Sorry, this clashes with the local FP meetup. Really curious about the "Test Data aaS" though. Is this randomly generated test data (ala QuickCheck)? Or perhaps a Markov chain generator or something?

Hope the sessions are being recorded!

Perhaps someone could try recording the session with a smartphone, tablet, or spare laptop? It might even work (but microphone could be a problem from what I've been told).
