Why or how did you become an Atheist?

I was brought up agnostic and religion wasn't something my family discussed often. I first learnt about religion in primary school. My R. E. Teacher Ms. Sheally told the story of Mathew 9 where Jesus performs a miracle on a woman’s bleeding wounds. She finished the story by explaining how we should be really thankful that god allows our wounds to heal. I asked the question of why God created disease, she replied it was too complicated for my understanding.

What do you want from Brisbane Atheist Meetup meeting?

To have fun, meet other Atheists and maybe stir up a preacher or two.

How did you find out about our group?

Dave Musgrave posted a link in the Brisbane Atheist facebook group.

Hey Brisbane Atheists! My name’s Coen Scott. I’m a visual artist and a community support contractor. I was born in New Zealand and became Australian permanent resident when I was three. I am the founding member of the Brisbane Atheists on Facebook.
