Why or how did you become an Atheist?

I found in conventional religions, particually Christainity, something that insulted my intelligence, and was looking for a more rational approach. From a early age I was an interested in science. Taken to extremes I belived that science could solve most problems.

What do you want from Brisbane Atheist Meetup meeting?

Understanding the relation of science and society, the promotion of science to seek out rationial explanations of the paranormal.

How did you find out about our group?

On the internet.

I am interested in comparative religion, science, philosophy, the scientific investigation of the paranormal and Theosophy. I am presently retired, but used to work in the Health Scientific library as a library assistant.
