(**** Edit 12/5/2012: See my 'reply' to this post re: the PBS/NOVA docco on "The Dover Trial" ***)

For those unfamiliar with this very interesting case here are a couple of links:

The first is a link to a selection of pointofinquiry.org podcasts. The one to look for is about 7th from the bottom. This podcast interviews Eugenie Scott. She kicks in about 0:03:30.

(Old Post: The second link is to the first part of a PBS broadcast 'Judgment Day: Intelligent Design on Trial'. There are 12 parts in all.)

Keying in "Dover Trial" in YouTube will reveal zillions of other things as well.

Thanks to the organizers for making this main folder available.

The Dover Trial stuff has got me even more interested - since watching that dreadful woman (Wendy Wright) being interviewed by Dawkins. This link is related to the Dover Trial and is Part #1 of a 13 part series to be found on YouTube titled "Kenneth Miller Dover and Design". He yacks away for the the 1st 9 or so chunks and the rest consists of his responses to questions from the audience. Miller is a God botherer - RC - but he seems pretty okay all the same H

Intelligent Design Creationism (58:45) - 3 January 2008. Robert T. Pennock, the scientist, philosopher and author of "Tower of Babel, The Evidence Against the New Creationism" speaks on the controversial movement to include intelligent design creationism in the curricula of public schools. Series: "Helen Edison Lecture Series" [12/2006] [Public Affairs] [Education] [Show ID: 12066]

Evolution and Intelligent Design View from the Dover Trial (38:21) - 09 April 2009. In 2005, eleven parents sued the Dover, PA, school board for requiring that a statement be read in biology classes promoting "intelligent design" as science and denigrating evolution. The case garnered international attention, and the decision was a resounding defeat for ID proponents. Kevin Padian, Professor of Integrative Biology, and Curator, Museum of Paleontology at UC Berkeley, explores what was at stake, what the trial did, what the "new" ID is, and what its proponents are really after, and what will they do next. [4/2009] [Science] [Show ID: 16072]

What Will the Creationists Do Next? (57:35) - 23 April 2009. Eugenie C. Scott, Executive Director of the National Center for Science Education, Inc. explores how the failure of Intelligent Design to survive a legal test of its constitutionality led it to evolve new strategies which call for teaching the "strengths and weaknesses of evolution" or the "critical analysis of evolution" which are creationism in disguise. [4/2009] [Science] [Show ID: 16073]

Evolution Intelligent Design debate Meyer V Ward
This is the 1st part of an eleven element YouTube debate. It is between Stephen Meyer and Peter Ward. Meyer is a senior fellow at the discovery institute and co-wrote the note to teachers at the end of the book "Of pandas and people" which was central to the Kitzmiller V Dover trial. Ward is a paleontologist and University of Washington Professor of Geology, Biology, Zoology and Astrobiology. The talk was held at Seattle in 2008. The 1st part is a bit slow but it gets more interesting as you work through the parts of the series.

The PBS (Nova) video mentioned near the top of the original post by me is now available in full so there's no need to work through each of the 12 parts in turn.
